MELBOURNE - Oct 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is moving across northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system north of the bight is moving east extending a ridge behind the front. This high will move over the The Tasman Sea later on Saturday and another cold front is expected to move through the state during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms on the southern and and central ranges and adjacent western plains, possibly extending to the coast. Showers and possible thunderstorms contracting east during the day. Snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres and possibly about the peaks of the central ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Gusty and cold south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger - Very High on the north coast.Friday 4 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Early frost areas on the slopes and ranges. Southerly winds near the north coast tending light and variable inland.Saturday 5 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Early frost patches about the ranges.
