Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low well south of the Bight will result in a vigorous west to southwesterly airstream over southern parts of the State today. A high will develop over the State on Thursday and then move east on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated gusty showers extending over the agricultural areas and west coast, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area east of Yorke Peninsula. Showers contracting to southern agricultural area and northern Spencer Gulf coasts in the evening. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms and possible small hail during the evening over the South East districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong to gale force and gusty at times in the south.Thursday 3 OctoberIsolated showers about southern coasts during the morning, and possible early showers over northern Spencer Gulf coasts, otherwise fine. Possible early morning small hail over the Lower South East. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, becoming light to moderate south to southeasterly winds during the day. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north.Friday 4 OctoberCool to cold at first over the mid north and Riverland with possible early frost, otherwise fine. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds turning northerly during the day.Saturday 5 OctoberFine conditions. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate northerly winds tending moderate southerly in the south. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 8 mm over the southern agricultural area increasing to 8 to 15 over the Mt Lofty Ranges and Lower South East district. Less than 2 mm is forecast elsewhere. Isolated falls of 15 to 25 mm are possible about the Lower South East coast.Sunday until TuesdayFine apart from possible isolated showers over the Lower South East on Sunday and Monday morning. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds in the north, moderate southerly winds in the south extending throughout on Monday then turning northerly on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
