U.S. Barley Stocks Slip
WASHINGTON - Sep 30/13 - SNS -- Barley stocks in all positions on September 1, 2013 totaled 196 million bushels, down slightly from September 1, 2012, according to the USDA's stocks in all positions report.
On-farm stocks are estimated at 106 million bushels, 5% below a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 90.8 million bushels, are 7% above September 2012. The June - August 2013 indicated disappearance is 99.0 million bushels, 19% above the same period a year earlier.
