Pea Disease Management App

SYDNEY - Sep 30/13 - SNS -- Australia's Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) has developed an application for the Android and the Apple iPhone and iPad, which helps field pea producers manage growing crops.

Targeting Australian growers, the free app may have some uses for farmers outside that country. It is intended to help growers recognize the symptoms of disease, insect attack and poor nutrition in field peas.

Called GRDC Field peas: The Ute Guide is built around predictive search topics, such as:

- A progressive 'symptom sorter' to identify disease or physical, nutritional or chemical disorders and their management;

- In-field comparison of field pea disorders or pests with ID photos;

- Option to download content updates;
