MELBOURNE - Sep 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over New South Wales will move to the Tasman Sea late today. Vigorous north to northwesterly flow will develop on Monday ahead of an intensifying cold front that will reach western Victoria later in the day. The front will then move across the remainder of the State during Tuesday. Another cold front will cross the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayA mild to warm and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds tending moderate to fresh north to northwesterly from the west.Monday 30 SeptemberCloud increasing from the west with patchy rain and the chance of thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon and reaching central parts by the evening. A generally warm day with strong and gusty north to northwest winds, reaching gale force at times, mainly over elevated areas.Tuesday 1 OctoberAreas of rain, particularly over central and eastern districts, tending to showers from the west and then mostly clearing in the west during the afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms. Mild with north to northwesterly winds, strong to gale force in the east at first ahead of a colder, fresh southwesterly change crossing the State during the day.Wednesday 2 OctoberScattered showers developing from the west over southern and mountain regions, tending more isolated over the northern plains.
