Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving over the Tasman Sea. A high pressure system north of the Bight will move across New South Wales during Sunday. A low pressure trough will form over South Australia on Monday, reaching western Victoria later in the day then moving across the remainder of the State during Tuesday. Another cold front will cross the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the south contracting to the coast tonight. Showers falling as snow down to 1500 metres. Fresh to strong west to southwesterly wind easing from the west.Sunday 29 SeptemberFine. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day. Mainly moderate westerly winds tending north to northwesterly from the west.Monday 30 SeptemberCloud increasing from the west with patchy rain and the chance of thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon and reaching central parts by the evening. A generally warm day with strengthening north to northwest winds, reaching gale force over elevated areas.Tuesday 1 OctoberAreas of rain, particularly over central and eastern districts, tending to showers from the west and then mostly clearing in the west during the afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms. Mild with north to northwesterly winds, strongto gale force in the east at first ahead of a colder, fresh southwesterly change crossing the State during the day.Wednesday 2 OctoberIsolated showers in the east clearing during the morning. Scattered showers developing from the west over mainly southern and mountain regions. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres later. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly wind shifting west to southwesterly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
