USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Sep 27/13 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 27.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were slight to sharply lower
with wheat trading higher.  Corn and soybeans were under pressure during the
week as harvest is progressing for corn and just getting started for soybeans.
Early corn yields have come in been better than expected.  The basis levels
continue to drop sharply in some locations on harvest pressure.  Rain is in the
forecast tomorrow but clear through next week.  Wheat saw solid gains as
indicators have turned positive with good export demand.  Corn had export sales
above expectations totaling 640,100 tonnes.  Soybeans had bullish export sales
of 2,826,300 tonnes with 2,816,800 tonnes for 2013-2014 seasons.  Wheat had
bullish export sales of 620,200 tonnes for 2013-2014 marketing year.  Wheat was
mostly 6-51 cents higher.  Yellow Corn was 4-52 cents lower.  Sorghum was mostly
5-6 cents lower.  Soybeans were 17-67 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 25
1/4 cents higher from 8.13 1/4-8.32 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft
Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 48 cents higher at 6.66 per bushel.  Minneapolis and Duluth US
No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 6 to 51 cents
higher at 8.29 1/2 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 3 to 11
1/4 cents higher from 7.05-7.18 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 4 to 5 cents lower from 4.87-
4.93 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 52 3/4 cents lower
at 4.56 3/4 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 43 to 51 cents
lower from 4.52-4.59 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 4 3/4 to 5 3/4
cents lower from 4.26 3/4-4.74 3/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn
was 12 3/4 to 21 3/4 cents lower from 4.36 3/4-4.46 3/4 per bushel.  Minneapolis
US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 6 1/4 cents higher at 4.71 3/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 1 1/2 to 6 1/2 cents higher from 3.28 1/2-3.53 1/2 per bushel.  US No 3
or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was
steady at 5.50 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export
was not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 5 cents lower at 8.16 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 6 cents lower to 4 cents higher from 7.54-7.71 per
cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 20 3/4 cents lower at 12.86
3/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 57 3/4
to 67 3/4 cents lower from 13.16 3/4-13.31 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Yellow truck soybeans were 17 3/4 to 22 3/4 cents lower at 12.91 3/4 per bushel.
Central Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 25.20 to 28.20
lower from 446.40-451.40 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor
bid was 42 to 142 points lower from 40.79-42.29 cents per pound.
