Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred over New South Wales will move to the Tasman Sea tonight as a cold front approaches from the west. This front is expected to move through southwestern districts during Saturday morning, continuing to the northeast later in the day. This will generate strong and gusty winds across much of the state, although any precipitation will be limited to areas near the Victorian border. Behind this system, the next high is forecast to drift across during Sunday, before another cold front early in the new week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Generally northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh in the far west ahead of a late southwesterly change.Saturday 28 SeptemberIsolated showers and the chance of early thunder over the southeastern inland, and possibly about the northeast corner. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm to hot day across the north. North to northwesterly winds becoming strong and gusty, particularly in the southeast, then turning cooler west to southwesterly through the day.Fire Danger -  Very High to Severe: All coastal and northeastern districts.Sunday 29 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Early frost about the tablelands, mainly in the south. South to southwesterly winds in the east, and generally light winds in the west.Monday 30 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot day in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds becoming fresh to strong in the south and west.Tuesday 1 OctoberRain areas extending from west, reaching central and southeastern areas later in the day and becoming more widespread on western slopes of the tablelands. Possible thunderstorms over the central and northern inland. Remaining fine in the northeast. Warm to hot day across the north. North to northwesterly winds becoming fresh to strong in many areas, before a southwesterly change moves through from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
