Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system north of Adelaide is moving steadily eastwards and will reach the east coast Friday morning. A trough of low pressure will move over the State during Friday ahead of a second high pressure system that is forecast to move across the SA on Saturday and NSW on Sunday. Another low pressure trough will extend from the west during Monday, reaching eastern districts late evening.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the Lower South East, clearing during the evening. Cool to mild with mainly light winds.Friday 27 SeptemberIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area in the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms possible during the afternoon near southern coasts and over eastern districts south of about Renmark. Showers scattered over the Lower South East from late afternoon to early evening. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening in the south. A fresh and gusty southwesterly change in the west early morning, extending eastwards to reach eastern districts in the afternoon or evening, becoming fresh to strong near the coasts.Saturday 28 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, scattered in the Lower South East early morning. Showers contracting southwards during the day, clearing by evening. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north with fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong near southern coasts, easing during the day and becoming light and variable by evening.Sunday 29 SeptemberFine. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and west. Light winds becoming moderate to fresh north to northwesterly during the day.Monday 30 SeptemberWarm near southern coasts, hot over the remainder. Strengthening and gusty northerly winds, with areas of raised dust in the north and west, ahead of a fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly change in the far west, extending eastwards in the afternoon to reach eastern districts late evening. Isolated showers and possible thunder developing with the change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, with less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible in the Lower South East.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers on Tuesday, contracting east and south, clearing to the Lower South East by evening. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday, slowly contracting southwards on Thursday. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coasts, turning southwest to southerly on ThursdayThe next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
