Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 25/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will continue to move over South Australia this evening. A high will develop over the Bight early Thursday and move steadily eastwards to reach the east coast Friday morning. Another trough of low pressure will move over the State during Friday ahead of a second high pressure system that is forecast to move across the SA on Saturday and NSW on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayCloudy with showers developing over much of the agricultural area, moving eastwards ahead of a vigorous cold front in the west. Isolated showers will extend to the northern agricultural area with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms moving over southern agricultural areas. Generally mild. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds strengthening ahead of a fresh to strong and gusty west to southwesterly change moving across agricultural areas this afternoon and evening. Winds reaching strong to gale force at times about the coast. Areas of raised dust mainly over the Northwest Pastoral district this afternoon and evening.Thursday 26 SeptemberScattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and small hail over southern coastal areas until sunrise. Otherwise, isolated showers over agricultural areas easing and contracting southwards and clearing by evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds easing during the day, then becoming light and variable in the evening.Friday 27 SeptemberIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers with possible thunderstorms about southern coastal areas in the afternoon and evening. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate northerly winds at first ahead of a fresh and gusty southwesterly change, strong at times in the west with areas of raised from late morning.Saturday 28 September
Scattered showers about southern coastal areas before sunrise. Otherwise, isolated showers about the agricultural area contracting to the Lower South East during the day, becoming confined to the Lower South East coast by evening. Cool to mild in the south and generally warm in the north. Strong and gusty southwesterly winds moderating about the coast. Otherwise, moderate southwest to southeasterly winds easing during the day.
Sunday 29 SeptemberFine apart from possible isolated early morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Generally mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and west. Light winds becoming moderate to fresh north to northwesterly during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to vary between 2 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 15 to 25 mm about the Lower South East coast. Less than 2 mm elsewhere.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers extending across the State early next week with the passage of a trough. Isolated showers to persist about agricultural areas following the trough through to mid-week. Warm to hot on Monday with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of the cooler southwesterly change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
