Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening cold front approaching western Victoria will cross central districts early Tuesday and is forecast to be east of the State by midday Tuesday. A stronger cold front will cross the Bight on Wednesday before quickly crossing Victoria Thursday morning. The next high pressure system will move across southern NSW on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayCloudy with isolated showers contracting to central and eastern districts tonight. Fresh and gusty northerly winds tending northwest to westerly in the west this evening then extending to central areas tonight. .Tuesday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers possible near and south of the ranges. A mild to warm day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, strong over Alpine areas during the morning.Wednesday 25 SeptemberIsolated showers possible near and south of the ranges, extending to the north in the afternoon with patchy rain developing over the northwest later in the day. A mild to warm day with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, strong at times over Alpine areas.Thursday 26 SeptemberRain areas contracting to the east and clearing during the morning with scattered showers to follow. Showers falling as snow to 1200 metres. Showers becoming isolated over the northwest during the afternoon and clearing by the evening. A cooler day with fresh westerly winds, strong near the coast and about Alpine areas.Friday 27 SeptemberMorning frost patches over the northeast and isolated early morning showers possible over South Gippsland. A mostly dry and sunny day apart from isolated showers developing over western districts in the afternoon, possibly extending to central districts at night. Light winds tending moderate to locally fresh northerly over western and central districts in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh afternoon seabreezes developing near the Gippsland coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Tuesday.Product IDV10310
