MELBOURNE - Sep 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening cold front over the Bight will reach western Victoria late on Monday afternoon, crossing central and eastern parts of the State Monday night and early Tuesday with another front to slip southeast of Tasmania on Tuesday. A stronger cold front will move into western Victoria late on Wednesday and move rapidly across the State early Thursday as an associated deep low pressure system passes well south of Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of MondayLocal morning fog patches in the east. Mostly sunny at first but high cloud increasing from the west during the afternoon and northeast to northerly winds freshening and becoming strong at times this afternoon in the northwest. A fresh gusty northwest to westerly wind change reaching the west in the late afternoon then extending to central areas in the evening. The chance of showers and thunderstorms near the change and also in the northeast later in the day. Raised dust possible in the Mallee this afternoon.Tuesday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers possible over the southwest and near the ranges. A mild to warm day with moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Wednesday 25 SeptemberIsolated showers possible over the southwest and near the central coast. Rain areas developing over the southwest during the evening and extending into central districts at night. A mild to warm day with moderate west to northwest winds, fresh at times in the south.Thursday 26 SeptemberRain areas contracting to the east and clearing with scattered showers to follow near and south of the divide. Becoming dry over the northwest.
