Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea as a trough of low pressure approaches the western border of New South Wales. This trough is forecast to to reach the western border during the afternoon, continuing to the coast on Tuesday. Hot northerly winds will affect many areas ahead of this system, with only slightly cooler conditions following and little if any rainfall resulting. A strong cold front appears likely to cross the state Wednesday night and Thursday, bringing a more significant drop in temperatures.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and mostly sunny, though cloud increasing from the west later in the day. A warm to hot day. Freshening northwest to northeasterly winds, becoming strong and gusty in the far west during the afternoon, possibly generating areas of raised dust.Fire Danger -  Very high: North Coast, Greater Hunter, Greater Sydney, Far Western.Tuesday 24 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot day in most central and northern districts. West to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong and gusty in parts of the east. Winds tending northeasterly along the far north coast. A late southerly change on the south coast.Wednesday 25 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot day for the northern inland. West to northwesterly winds tending fresh northeasterly along the coast.Thursday 26 SeptemberIsolated showers developing in the south, becoming more widespread about the western slopes of the ranges with snow on the peaks. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day through the northeast. Strengthening northwest winds before a cool and gusty southwesterly change moves through most of the state, reaching the northeast at night.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDN10031
