MELBOURNE - Sep 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure will reach the far west coast this evening, then extend northeastwards to be near Moomba around midnight Monday. A series of low pressure troughs will move across the State later in the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Light and variable winds tending moderate to fresh northerly over the west and north.Monday 23 SeptemberFine apart from possible isolated light showers developing about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast late evening. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, strong over the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts bringing areas of raised dust, ahead of a moderate to fresh westerly change in the west extending to the far northeast late evening and easing. Areas of raised dust possible west of Nullarbor during the afternoon and early evening.Tuesday 24 SeptemberFine apart from possible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East district contracting to the Lower South east coast during the day. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, turning light to moderate west to southwesterly in the west and north in the evening.Wednesday 25 SeptemberIsolated showers developing over the agricultural area becoming scattered about the Lower South East district in the evening. Possible isolated late thunderstorms over western Kangaroo Island. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light o moderate southwest to northwesterly winds freshening in the south and west during the day then turning fresh to strong southwesterly in the west later in the day with areas of raised dust over the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral districts in the afternoon and early evening.Thursday 26 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area contracting to the southern coasts during the afternoon and evening. Showers tending to scattered about the Mt Loft Ranges and Lower South East district during the morning. Cool to mild grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds easing during the day then becoming light and variable in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be lass than 2 mm about the north of the agricultural area with 2 to 10 mm elsewhere. Falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible about the Lower South East district and Mt Lofty Ranges.Friday until SundayIsolated showers about the agricultural area contracting to the southern coasts on saturday and easing on Sunday. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.
