MELBOURNE - Sep 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure over western Victoria will move to the east of the State on Saturday afternoon to reach the Tasman Sea on Sunday morning. A low pressure trough will approach western Victoria late on Saturday, weakening as it moves eastwards on Sunday. The next cold front will reach western Victoria on Monday afternoon, crossing the State Monday night and early Tuesday and another cold front is expected to follow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly morning frost and fog patches, mainly in the north and west. Isolated showers with possible thunderstorms developing in the west around midday then extending to central districts later in the afternoon and evening. Showers becoming scattered over the southwest. A mild to warm day with increasing cloud. Light winds tending moderate northwest to northerly from the west.Sunday 22 SeptemberIsolated showers contracting to the east, scattered about the eastern ranges and falling as snow on the peaks. A mild to warm day with light and variable winds.Monday 23 SeptemberA warm and mainly sunny day with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Isolated showers developing in the southwest later in the day and at night.Tuesday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southwest and about the coast, clearing during the morning but redeveloping at night over the southwest.
