Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system east of Tasmania will move slowly across the south Tasman Sea today and Saturday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over western Victoria tonight and move slowly across the State on Saturday and becoming established over the Tasman Sea on Sunday. A low pressure trough will approach western Victoria late on Saturday, weakening as it moves eastwards on Sunday. The next cold front will reach western Victoria on Monday, crossing the State on Tuesday, with yet another cold front reaching the west later Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers contracting to the east tonight and then clearing. Snow showers above 1500 metres. Partly cloudy with moderate to fresh westerly winds, easing from the west.Saturday 21 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches, mainly in the north and west. Isolated showers with possible thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon extending to central districts at night. Showers becoming scattered along the west coast. Early frost patches in the northeast. A mild to warm day and partly cloudy day with light winds tending moderate northwest to northerly in the west.Sunday 22 SeptemberIsolated showers contracting to the east, scattered about the eastern ranges and falling as snow on the peaks. A mild to warm day with light and variable winds.Monday 23 SeptemberA warm and mainly sunny day with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Isolated showers developing in the southwest later in the day and at night.Tuesday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southwest and about the coast, clearing during the morning but redeveloping at night over the southwest. A warm day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
