Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is situated near northwestern NSW, while a low remains almost stationary over the southern Tasman Sea. Between these systems, vigorous west to southwesterly winds are are affecting much of the state as a cold front sweeps across the region. During the weekend, the high will drift slowly east to promote generally fine conditions through most districts. Warmer weather is forecast for the start of the new week as the high shifts to the Tasman Sea and winds turn northerly. Troughs are expected to cross the state during Tuesday and Wednesday but will bring little, if any, rain.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and possible thunder in the southeast, particularly about the western slopes of the tablelands, easing through the evening. Snow showers on the Alps to about 1100 metres. Fine elsewhere. Mainly west to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in the east, though local sea breezes along the north coast.Saturday 21 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of afternoon showers in the far southwest. Mostly sunny. Early fog and frost patches in the east, mainly about the tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds in the east, and northwest to southwesterly winds further inland.Sunday 22 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south east, more likely about the tablelands, with possible thunderstorms near the Victorian border. The chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms about the northern coast. Fine and sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Warm to hot day in the west. Light winds in the east, with afternoon sea breezes developing. North to northwesterly winds in the west.Monday 23 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of showers along the north coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds, becoming strong and gusty in the far west and along the southern coast.Tuesday 24 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot day.
