MELBOURNE - Sep 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system east of Tasmania is moving slowly to the southeast. A cold front currently over inland south will cross eastern NSW during the day with showers and colder conditions for the southeast and strong, gusty westerly winds for most eastern districts. A weak high pressure system will move in a wake of the front over the weekend before another front approaches Sunday/Monday and temperatures increase again. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and possible thunder in the southeast, particularly about the western slopes of the ranges and along the coast later. Snow on the Alps to about the 1100 metre level. Northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong and gusty in the east, though local afternoon sea breezes along the north coast.Fire Danger - Very high: Mid North Coast.Saturday 21 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the southwest. Fine elsewhere. Early frost about the ranges. Generally light and variable winds, turning northerly in the west during the afternoon.Sunday 22 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the east. Fine elsewhere. Very warm day in the west. Light winds tending north to northeast in along the coast and in the far west.Monday 23 SeptemberPossible showers along the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot day in the west.
