district for Friday.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's

Weather Situation
A weak ridge lies along the north tropical coast. A surface trough is moving
eastwards across the state's interior and is expected to move off the southeast
coast overnight.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday
Mostly fine and clear throughout the state except for some areas of low cloud
about parts of the east coast and some isolated showers and possible storms
about the Wide Bay and Capricornia coasts. Light to moderate NE to NW winds
across the northern districts. Moderate to fresh NE to NW winds ahead of the
surface trough, and moderate to fresh S to SW'ly behind the trough.
Forecast for Friday
Fine, dry and sunny across the state. Above average maxima through the
northern and central districts. Mainly moderate SE to SW winds across the
state, fresh at times during the day about the western districts and the
southern interior. A very high to severe fire danger over the Central Highlands
and Coalfields district. A high to very high fire danger over the remainder of
the state.
Forecast for Saturday
A weak high should drift eastwards across New South Wales helping to maintain
fine, dry and sunny conditions across the state except for just the chance of
some isolated afternoon storms near the Central Coast. Above average maxima
through much of the state.
Forecast for Sunday
The high pressure system should drift eastwards across the Tasman Sea, and is
likely to push more low level moisture over southeast Queensland. This
moisture, in combination with an upper trough is expected to produce an area of
isolated showers and thunderstorms across eastern districts south of about
Bowen. Isolated showers are also possible about the northeast tropics. Fine and
mostly sunny across the remainder of the state.
Forecast for Monday
The high should move eastwards towards New Zealand while maintaining a ridge
of high pressure and moist onshore flow about Queensland's east coast. This
moisture, in combination with the departing upper level trough may produce some
isolated showers and storms about the southeastern districts.
Outlook for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
A new surface trough should enter western Queensland around Tuesday,
generating hot and gusty NW'ly winds and elevated fire dangers across the
interior. Remaining fine and dry except for some showers returning to the east
coast of Cape York Peninsula mid-week.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am EST
Friday.
