MELBOURNE - Sep 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system centred near the far southern New South Wales coast is moving southeastwards and generating windy conditions in the east. Otherwise a trough over northeastern New South Wales moves east. Following the trough a weak high pressure system is forecast to drift over the state, maintaining generally fine conditions until Saturday at least. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the southeast, chiefly about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers about the Alps above 1200 metres, mainly morning. Northwest to southwesterly winds over most of the state, although east to northeasterly over the far south coast. Moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds along the coast.Friday 20 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the southeast, more likely about the Alps. West to southwesterly winds, fresh in the southeast, turning easterly about the northern coast in the afternoon.Saturday 21 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the far south. Fine elsewhere. Generally light and variable winds, turning northerly in the west during the afternoon.Sunday 22 SeptemberThe chance of showers on and east of the ranges, mainly about the north coast and southern ranges. Fine elsewhere.
