Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will remain over northern parts of the State into the weekend, with a series of low pressure troughs moving to the south.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East during the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds, moderate to fresh near southern coasts.Thursday 19 SeptemberIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East, extending over the southern agricultural area and Eyre Peninsula south of Ceduna to Cleve during the afternoon or evening. Showers increasing to scattered with possible isolated thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East district. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, freshening during the day.Friday 20 SeptemberEarly fog patches over western districts south of Woomera and in the Flinders district. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting southwards and clearing late evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north and west. Chiefly light winds, turning moderate northerly in the west.Saturday 21 SeptemberPartly cloudy. The chance of isolated showers over the Flinders and western districts south of about Woomera, clearing during the afternoon. Possible isolated showers over Kangaroo Island and the South East district, becoming possible isolated showers and thunder in the afternoon, and extending into the Murraylands. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds, ahead of a moderate to fresh southwest to southerly wind change extending over western districts during the day.Sunday 22 SeptemberFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunder in the South East district early morning. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north and west with winds becoming mainly light and variable during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 15 mm over the southern Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Less than 1 mm is expected further north.Monday until WednesdayThe chance of isolated showers at times near southern coasts. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north. Chiefly northwest to southwesterly winds, moderate to fresh at times.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
