MELBOURNE - Sep 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front in the west will continue to move eastwards this evening reaching a line about Port Lincoln to Coober Pedy tonight, then clearing the eastern border late Wednesday morning. A high is forecast to gradually move across South Australia this week with weak trough passing over the far south of the State late Thursday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the west extending eastwards over the West Coast district and southern parts of the North West Pastoral district, reaching Eyre Peninsula this evening and Central districts late evening. Showers becoming scattered with possible isolated thunderstorms about southern and western Eyre Peninsula, the far south of Yorke Peninsula and western Kangaroo Island during the evening. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds ahead of a strong and gusty southwesterly change extend over the western parts of the State late this afternoon and evening with areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 18 SeptemberIsolated showers over agricultural areas and the southern parts of the Pastoral districts, scattered during the morning over the southern agricultural area, all easing and contracting to southern coasts. Possible morning thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds in the east with a fresh southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning.Thursday 19 SeptemberFine apart from isolated early morning and evening showers about the Lower South East and the chance of isolated showers over southern coasts from mid-afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwesterly winds easing during the day.Friday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers over the Lower South East Coast with the chance of isolated showers over remaining southern coastal districts, all contracting southwards and clearing in the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds and light afternoon coastal sea breezes in the west.Saturday 21 September Cloudy. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending from the west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be up to 5 mm in the north and west, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, and 10 to 20 mm over southern coasts and the Mount Lofty Ranges.
