Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure trough moving across western New South Wales is forecast to reach the coast during Tuesday morning. A low pressure centre is then expected to deepen near the southern coast before moving south. Following this, a high pressure system will form over South Australia on Wednesday extending a ridge over northern New South Wales, while another trough passes over the state's south.
Forecast for the rest of MondayRain and thunderstorms, clearing from the far west but increasing over much of the eastern half during the night. Severe thunderstorms likely over the western inland. North to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast, and a fresh westerly change moving over the western inland.Tuesday 17 SeptemberRain and thunderstorms in the east, contracting to the southeast during the day. Moderate to heavy falls possible likely on the south coast during the morning. Fresh west to southwesterly winds inland. Gusty northeasterly winds along the coast tending strong in the far south, turning west to northwesterly during the day.Wednesday 18 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern border districts, mainly about the western slopes of the southern ranges, with the chance of late thunderstorms. Possible snow showers about the Alps. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the east, and a fresh west to southwesterly change extending across the west.Thursday 19 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southeast, chiefly about the western slopes of the southern ranges, with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible snow showers about the Alps. Northwest to southwest winds over most of the state, although east to northeasterly over the far south coast. West to southwesterly winds.Friday 20 SeptemberThe chance of showers in the far southeast, mainly about the Alps.
