Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system near Lameroo will move southeastwards over Victoria this evening. A weak high pressure ridge will precede a trough, which is expected to enter the western parts of SA Tuesday afternoon, reaching a line about Port Lincoln to Coober Pedy in the evening then clearing the eastern border late Wednesday morning. A high to the west of WA is forecast to gradually move over South Australia late this week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas and the southern parts of the Pastoral districts, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area until evening, all easing and contracting to the southern agricultural area tonight. Possible thunderstorms about the agricultural area until this evening. Cool to mild. Moderating southwesterly winds.Tuesday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and Mid North, contracting southwards during the day and clearing by evening. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending over the West Coast district and southern parts of the North West Pastoral district during the afternoon, reaching Eyre Peninsula and Coober Pedy in the evening. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing about western coasts of Eyre Peninsula during the evening. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate southwesterly winds tending northerly from the west ahead of a strong and gusty southwesterly change during the afternoon and evening with areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 18 SeptemberIsolated showers over agricultural areas and the southern parts of the Pastoral districts, scattered during the morning over the southern agricultural area, all easing and contracting to southern coasts. Possible morning thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds freshening ahead of a fresh southwesterly change extending throughout during the morning.Thursday 19 SeptemberIsolated morning showers about the Lower South East. The chance of isolated showers over southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwesterly winds easing during the day.Friday 20 September
Isolated showers over the southern coasts with the chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, all contracting southwards and clearing in the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds and light afternoon coastal sea breezes in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area, the West Coast district and southern parts of the Pastoral districts, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area. Local falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible over the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East coast.
Saturday until MondayFine during the weekend. Becoming warm to hot later in the period ahead of a trough extending over SA on Monday bringing cooler conditions and isolated showers to agricultural areas and the West Coast district.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
