MELBOURNE - Sep 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A complex low pressure trough will move into western New South Wales on Monday, then progress eastwards to the coast early Tuesday. A low pressure centre is expected to deepen off the southern half of the coast early Tuesday as the trough moves over the area. A high pressure system will form over South Australia on Wednesday extending a ridge over most of New South Wales. Forecast for the rest of SundayPatchy light rain and thunderstorms in the west, extending gradually eastwards to reach the north coast during the evening. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Monday 16 SeptemberRain and thunderstorms, clearing in the far west during the day but increasing over much of the eastern half of the state. Thunderstorms possibly severe over the central inland during the afternoon, with large hail and damaging wind gusts possible. Gusty east to northeast winds, increasing along the coast during the day, and tending gusty westerly over the western inland districts.Tuesday 17 SeptemberRain and thunderstorms over the eastern half of the state, contracting to the far southeast by the end of the day. Gusty northeasterly winds ahead of a westerly change extending throughout.Wednesday 18 SeptemberIsolated showers over the far southeast of the state, more widespread over the western slopes of the southern ranges. Northwest to southwest winds over most of the state, although east to northeasterly over the far south coast.Thursday 19 SeptemberIsolated showers over the far southeast of the state, more widespread over the western slopes of the southern ranges.
