Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system south of the Bight extends a trough across the west of the State. The low will move southeastwards on Monday with the trough moving across central and eastern parts of the State. Another low will develop to the south of the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the east of the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, the west coast of Eyre Peninsula and the agricultural area east of Yoke Peninsula. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and the West Coast district. Fresh to strong northeast to northwesterly winds, with areas of raised dust in the north and west, easing during the evening. Winds tending moderate easterly in the southeast.Monday 16 SeptemberPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the east of the Northeast Pastoral and Riverland, clearing during the early morning. Isolated showers over the West Coast district, agricultural area and south of the pastorals, increasing to scattered about the southern agricultural area. Showers easing during the day and contracting east. Possible thunderstorm south of about Clare contracting east and clearing during the afternoon. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, turning fresh to strong southwesterly over the west and north extending throughout during the day with areas of raised dust over the Flinders and southern pastoral districts.Tuesday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and Mid North, contracting south during the day. Isolated showers and possible thunder extending over the West Coast district and west coast of Eyre Peninsula in the evening. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate southwesterly winds tending northerly in the west ahead of a fresh to strong southwesterly change during the evening with areas of raised dust in the west.Wednesday 18 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts with isolated showers extending over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds freshening in the west ahead of a fresh southwesterly change extending throughout during the day.Thursday 19 SeptemberIsolated showers about the southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate northerly winds ahead of a fresh southwesterly change in the west in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area with local falls of 20 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East. Less than 2 mm over the remainder. Higher falls are possible in the north with thunderstorms.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Friday tending to scattered about the Lower South East district during the morning, contracting south and clearing by late evening. Fine otherwise. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west with light to moderate northerly winds ahead of a southerly change on saturday then turning northerly in the west on Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Monday.Product IDS10033
