MELBOURNE - Sep 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure will move across the southeast of the State today. A low will develop south of the Bight on Sunday and extend a trough across the west of the State on Sunday and the remainder on Monday. Another low will develop to the south of the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the southeast, scattered about the Lower South East, clearing late evening. Possible isolated thundery showers in the west. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly in the west, becoming strong in the far northwest bringing areas of raised dust.Sunday 15 SeptemberPossible early morning fog over the southeast and Kangaroo Island. Patchy light rain and possible thunderstorms extending across the agricultural areas and south of the pastorals east of about Ceduna tending to rain at times about Kangaroo Island and the South East districts. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the remainder east of about Ceduna. Isolated showers developing near western coasts during the afternoon and evening Mild to warm, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west and over the Flinders district. Winds tending westerly in the west during the afternoon and evening. Areas of raised dust are possible at times over the Pastorals and the Flinders and West Coast districts.Monday 16 SeptemberAreas of rain in the Southeast and possible isolated showers and thunder in the east clearing during the early morning. Isolated showers over the West Coast district, agricultural area and south of the pastorals, increasing to scattered at times easing during the day and contracting east. Possible thunder over the southern agricultural area contracting east and clearing during the afternoon. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, turning fresh to strong southwesterly over the west and north extending throughout during the day.Tuesday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting south during the day. Isolated showers and possible thunder extending over the West Coast district later in the day. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate southwesterly winds tending northerly in the west ahead of a fresh southwesterly change during the evening.Wednesday 18 SeptemberScattered showers over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday, tending to isolated showers over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. . Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh about southern coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area with local falls of 20 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East. Less than 2 mm over the remainder. Higher falls are possible in the north with thunderstorms.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers about the southern coasts on Thursday extending over the agricultural areas on Friday before contracting to the southern agricultural area on Saturday. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.
