Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough, currently over central western New South Wales, is moving eastwards and expected to cross the NSW coast during Saturday. A small low pressure system is expected to form off the central NSW coast late morning or early Saturday afternoon as the trough crosses the coast, moving northeastwards into the Tasman Sea late Saturday and on Sunday. A high pressure system will form to the southeast of Tasmania on Sunday, extending a ridge towards the southern NSW coast ahead of the next trough which is expected to cross the NSW coast on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridaySome rain gradually extending across the south with a little snow on the Alps. Isolated showers about the northeast quarter. Isolated thunderstorms in these areas. Fine and mostly sunny in the northwest. Southeast to northeasterly winds, with a westerly change in the far west.Saturday 14 SeptemberMorning fog in the southern inland and on the northern coast and ranges.Rain and isolated thunderstorms in the southeast, contracting to the coast during the day. Snow above about 1500 metres. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, mainly during the morning. Northwest to southwesterly winds extending across most districts, although remaining northeast to southeasterly along parts of the coast.Fire Danger -  Very High over the Northern Slopes.Sunday 15 SeptemberMorning fog areas in the south and west. Isolated morning showers for southern parts of the coastal fringe. Patchy rain developing in the far west, extending throughout during the afternoon and evening. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Monday 16 SeptemberRain areas over the central inland, extending further east during the day and clearing from the west by the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms over the western half of the state, as well as the chance of a thunderstorm over the far northeast of the state. East to northeast winds, tending westerly from the west.Tuesday 17 SeptemberShowers over the eastern half of the state, contracting to the far southeast by the end of the day. Northeasterly winds ahead of a westerly change extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
