Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over eastern parts of the State will move over Victoria on Saturday. A low will develop south of the Bight on Sunday and extend a trough across the west of the State on Sunday and the remainder on Monday. Another low will develop to the south of the State on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms over eastern districts this afternoon. Cool with moderate northwest to southwest winds, becoming light and variable this evening.Saturday 14 SeptemberMorning fog patches. Isolated showers or drizzle over the southern agricultural area, contracting southeast and clearing in the evening. Possible isolated showers developing over the west. Chiefly light winds, turning moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west.Sunday 15 SeptemberFine over the northwest interior. Morning fog over the southeast. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, with showers becoming scattered near western and southern coasts. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west and tending westerly, bringing areas of raised dust.Monday 16 SeptemberIsolated showers and possible thunder clearing from the far northeast early. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastorals, increasing to scattered at times with possible thunder over the southern agricultural area. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, turning fresh to strong southwesterly over the west and north.Tuesday 17 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting south during the day. Isolated showers and possible thunder extending from the west later in the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area with possible falls of up to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges. Less than 5 mm over the remainder.Wednesday until FridayScattered showers over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday, easing to isolated showers over the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. Isolated showers contracting to the southern agricultural area on Thursday and Friday. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh about southern coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
