Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over central parts of the State will move slowly southeastwards to be over the Lower South East late Friday evening. A low will develop south of the Bight on Sunday and extend a trough across the west of the State on Sunday and the remainder on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly morning fog patches over the Flinders district, Eyre Peninsula and the south of the Pastoral districts. Areas of rain in the South East district, contracting southeastwards and clearing in the afternoon. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to follow over the southern agricultural area with isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder south of about Ceduna to Yunta, easing throughout by evening to be just isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool in the south, grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds in the southeast, turning mainly moderate northwest to southwesterly over the remainder.Saturday 14 SeptemberMorning fog patches. Isolated showers or drizzle over the southern agricultural area, contracting southeast and clearing in the evening. Possible isolated showers over the west, with possible isolated thunder over the Nullarbor Plain. Chiefly light winds, turning moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west.Sunday 15 SeptemberFine in the northwest interior. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, with showers becoming scattered near western coasts and the southern agricultural area. Mild to warm grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west and tending westerly, bringing areas of raised dust.Monday 16 SeptemberIsolated showers clearing from the far northeast early. Scattered showers over the agricultural area and isolated showers over the south of the pastoral districts, with possible isolated thunderstorms east of about Elliston. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, turning fresh to strong southwesterly over the west and north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be 10 to 25 mm over the southern agricultural area, 5 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and less than 5 mm over the remainder.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastorals, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday and Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
