Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over Victoria will move eastwards overnight, reaching the Tasman Sea on Friday. A low pressure trough will cross South Australia to reach northwestern Victoria on Friday but it will then tend to weaken out as it crosses northern Victoria on Saturday. A low pressure system will develop at the head of the Bight on Saturday before moving towards western Victoria on Sunday and across central parts of the the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over East Gippsland with snowfalls down to 900 metres. Patchy rain developing over the northwest at night. Light east to southeasterly winds.Friday 13 SeptemberEarly frost patches over central and eastern ares. Areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms extending southeastwards during the day. Rain tending to isolated showers in the northwest during the afternoon. Cool and mostly cloudy with light to moderate northeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Saturday 14 SeptemberScattered showers in southern and eastern areas. Isolated showers possible elsewhere. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with generally light winds tending fresh east to northeasterly near the Gippsland coast.Sunday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers clearing from the southeast during the morning. Areas of rain developing in the northwest during the morning before extending southeastwards during the day. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with a light to moderate northeasterly wind.Monday 16 SeptemberRain across most districts. Moderate northeast to northerly winds shifting westerly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Friday.Product IDV10310
