MELBOURNE - Sep 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure near a line Elliston to Coober Pedy will move slowly southeastwards to be over the Lower South East late Friday evening. A low will develop south of the Bight on Sunday and extend a trough across the west of the State on Sunday and the remainder on Monday. Forecast for the rest of Thursday Areas of rain over the agricultural area, tending to isolated showers developing over the Lower South East. Scattered thunderstorms over Eyre Peninsula, with possible small hail about western coasts and isolated thunderstorms developing over central districts. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the south of the pastorals. Mild in the south and west, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds, turning westerly in the west. Friday 13 SeptemberEarly morning fog patches over the Flinders district and south of the pastorals. Areas of rain over eastern agricultural districts, contracting to the Lower South East and clearing early evening. Scattered showers to follow over the southern agricultural area, with isolated showers over the west coast, northern agricultural area and south of the pastorals. Possible isolated thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, contracting southeast and clearing in the evening. Cool in the southeast, grading to hot in the northeast, mild to warm in the west. Light to moderate northeasterly winds in the southeast, turning moderate to fresh westerly over the remainder.Saturday 14 SeptemberMorning fog patches. Isolated showers or drizzle over the southern agricultural area, contracting southeast and clearing in the evening. Possible isolated showers over the west, with possible isolated thunder over the Nullarbor Plain. Chiefly light winds, turning moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west.Sunday 15 SeptemberFine in the northwest interior. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, with showers becoming scattered across the west coasts and southern agricultural area. Mild to warm grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, strengthening in the west and tending westerly, bringing areas of raised dust.Monday 16 SeptemberIsolated showers clearing from the far northeast early. Scattered showers over the agricultural area and isolated showers over the south of the pastoral districts, with possible isolated thunderstorms east of about Elliston. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, turning fresh to strong southwesterly over the west and north.
