Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high just south of Ceduna is moving eastwards and weakening, as another high develops well south of the State on Wednesday. This high will move slowly eastwards to be centred south of Tasmania on Saturday. A trough will move into western parts of the State late Wednesday, and then move slowly eastwards over the State on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers over Kangaroo Island, southern Fleurieu Peninsula and the South East district. Cool in the south, grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh in the southeast.Wednesday 11 SeptemberIsolated showers over Kangaroo Island, the Mount Lofty Ranges and South East districts, contracting south during the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Isolated showers and possible thunder developing in the west in the morning, extending eastwards to reach Eyre Peninsula and the Flinders district in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning light to moderate northerly from the west.Thursday 12 SeptemberCloud increasing with isolated showers and possible thunder extending southeastwards, reaching the Lower South East in the afternoon or evening. Showers and thunder increasing to areas of rain and possible thunder during the afternoon or evening over areas southeast of about Ceduna to Leigh Creek, except in the far southeast. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Winds increasing to moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly during the day, ahead of a west to southwesterly change in the west early morning, extending eastwards to reach central parts in the evening.Friday 13 SeptemberAreas of rain and possible thunder over the agricultural area to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, contracting southeastwards and clearing by midday. Isolated showers and possible thunder over the Northeast Pastoral east of Marree in the morning. Isolated showers to follow over the agricultural area, with the chance of thunder south of about Adelaide until evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds in the southeast, otherwise chiefly light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 14 SeptemberPossible morning showers over the southern agricultural area, and also developing over areas west of Coober Pedy to Ceduna in the afternoon or evening. Chiefly light winds, turning moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly in the west. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area, 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area with possible falls of 20 to 30 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower South East and Kangaroo Island.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers, contracting to the agricultural area during Tuesday. Mostly mild with moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
