MELBOURNE - Sep 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea on Monday. A low pressure system south of the Bight will move to south of Tasmania on Monday with an associated trough passing over SA coastal waters today and on Monday. Another high will move over South Australia on Tuesday and then move eastwards on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers near southern and western coasts with possible isolated thunderstorms in the far west. Mild to warm. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting west to southwesterly from the west.Monday 9 SeptemberPossible early morning thundery showers west of about Port Lincoln to Tarcoola. Isolated showers over the West Coast and agricultural area, increasing to scattered at times about the southern coasts during the afternoon and evening. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, shifting west to southwesterly in the west and extending throughout during the day.Tuesday 10 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area increasing to scattered showers and possible thunderstorms about the Lower South East district during the afternoon and evening. Possible isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area. Cool in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds, easing from the west during the day.Wednesday 11 SeptemberPossible isolated showers north and west of about Woomera and Leigh Creek. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area clearing from the north during the day. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds turning northeasterly in the west.Thursday 12 SeptemberCloud increasing with possible isolated showers tending to patchy rain over much of the agricultural areas and the southern parts of the Pastoral districts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over northern agricultural areas and southern parts of the Pastoral districts, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over southern agricultural areas. Less than 2 mm is expected north of about Fowlers Bay to Woomera.Friday until SundayPatchy rain contracting to the southeast and clearing early in the period with isolated showers re-developing from the west next weekend.
