MELBOURNE - Sep 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge into northern New South Wales while a weakening front and low pressure trough affect the south. The trough is expected to become slow moving over southern parts of the state Friday and Saturday with cooler temperatures and some cloud cover but significant rainfall is considered unlikely. Winds are expected to turn warm, northwesterly over most of the state on Monday as a stronger trough approaches, reaching the west late in the day, then extending to reach the northeast later Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayChance of isolated showers in the far southeast, mainly over the coastal districts, fine elsewhere. Early fog patches, mostly near the coast. A very warm day in the north. Winds northeast to northwesterly in the north, south to southeasterly in the south.Sunday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coastal districts south from the Hunter. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Very warm for the northern inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 9 SeptemberPossible isolated showers over the southern inland. Fine remainder. Warm to very warm day through most of the state with northwest to northerly winds freshening before a westerly change in the west.Tuesday 10 SeptemberIsolated showers in the southeast and possibly through central and northwestern parts. Very warm day through the north and northeast.
