Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight extends a weak ridge of high pressure over Victoria. A cold front will move across southern Victoria on Saturday, with the high pressure system to then move over Victoria on Saturday night. A low pressure system will develop over the Bight on Sunday and and will weaken as it moves eastwards on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy rain over the north and east contracting to the east at night. Isolated showers developing over the southwest during the afternoon and evening, mainly near the coast. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh over elevated areas and near the coast.Saturday 7 SeptemberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, scattered near the coast and clearing later. A cool to mild day with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Sunday 8 SeptemberPatchy rain developing in the west with isolated showers possible over remaining southern and mountain districts. Dry in the north and across east Gippsland. A cool to mild day, though warmer in the northwest. Light winds.Monday 9 SeptemberScattered showers over southern and mountain districts with isolated showers extending to the northern plains during the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north and east. Moderate west to northwest winds shifting west to southwesterly in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
