Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge into northern New South Wales while a weakening front and low pressure trough affect the south. The trough is expected to become slow moving over southern parts of the state Friday with cooler temperatures and cloud cover but significant rainfall is considered unlikely. Winds are expected to turn warm, northwesterly over most of the state on Monday as a stronger trough approaches, reaching the west late in the day.
Forecast for the rest of FridayCooler and mostly cloudy with light patchy rain in the south. Fine and generally warm in the north though milder along the coast and on the ranges. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds tending southerly in the south.Saturday 7 SeptemberIsolated showers over the south of the state, elsewhere fine and partly cloudy. A warm day in the east and north, tending very warm to hot in the northwest. Winds northeast to northwesterly in the far north, ahead of a southwesterly change in the south.Sunday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coastal districts south from about Sydney. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 9 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southern inland. Fine remainder. Warm to very warm day through most of the state with northwest to northerly winds freshening before a westerly change in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDN10031
