MELBOURNE - Sep 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea this week. A trough of low pressure is expected to move across western parts of South Australia on today, then over the rest of the State on Thursday. Another high will develop over the Bight on Thursday and Friday, and then move eastwards during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayHigh cloud increasing from the west. Possible isolated showers and the chance of thunder developing near southern coasts and in the west, extending over the southern agricultural area during the late afternoon and evening. Generally warm to hot across the State. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change in the far west early morning, extending eastwards to reach central and southeastern districts in the evening. Possible raised dust over areas north and west of Ceduna from mid-afternoon.Thursday 5 SeptemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunder over the West Coast district, agricultural area, and south of the Pastoral districts. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly over the northeast of the State. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north.Friday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district with possible morning thunder, chiefly in the north. Fine over the remainder. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north. Generally light winds, tending moderate northwesterly near southern coasts.Saturday 7 SeptemberIsolated showers in the south and east clearing during the morning, but re-developing near the coast west of Ceduna. Cool in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate winds, chiefly southeast to northeasterly. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be mostly less than 2 mm with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm in the west and south.Sunday until TuesdayPossible isolated showers near southern and western coasts, gradually extending northwards, reaching the Pastoral districts on Tuesday. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.
