Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is located over the Tasman Sea, where it will move slowly northwards and weaken over the next few days. The next cold front will reach far southwestern Victoria on Wednesday night before crossing the remainder of the State on Thursday. The next high pressure system will move into the Bight on Thursday and extend a ridge across northern Victoria on Friday. Another cold front will move over southern Victoria and Bass Strait on Friday night, allowing the Bight high to move across southern Victoria on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and generally clear. Light northeasterly winds with east to southeasterly seabreezes along the Gippsland coast easing.Wednesday 4 SeptemberEarly fog patches in the east then a fine day. Isolated showers reaching the far southwest at night. Warm with a freshening north to northeasterly windThursday 5 SeptemberA band of showers extending across the State, although only isolated showers expected over the northern plains and over the far southeast. Cooler southwest to southerly winds gradually extending throughout.Friday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers, generally near the coast and the northern border. Cool to mild day with light west to southwesterly winds, moderate near the coast.Saturday 7 Septemberisolated showers over southern and mountain districts, contracting to the coast and clearing later. Cool day with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh at first near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
