MELBOURNE - Sep 2/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea this week. A trough of low pressure is expected to move across western parts of South Australia on Wednesday, then over the rest of the State on Thursday. Another high will develop over the Bight on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms west of about Nullarbor. Warm to hot in the south and east, grading to hot over the remainder. Mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the west.Wednesday 4 SeptemberHigh cloud increasing from the west. Possible isolated showers and the chance of thunder developing near southern coasts and in the west. Generally warm to hot across the State. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to southerly change in the far west early morning, extending eastwards to reach central and southeastern districts in the evening. Possible raised dust over areas north and west of Ceduna.Thursday 5 SeptemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunder over the West Coast district, agricultural area, and south of the Pastoral districts. Showers and thunder clearing over the south during the day. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly over the northeast of the State. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north.Friday 6 SeptemberIsolated showers over the northern agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the Pastoral districts. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers in the Lower South East. Cool in the south grading to warm in the north. Generally light winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be mostly less than 2 mm with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers clearing on Saturday, then re-developing on Sunday near southern coasts, extending northwards on Monday.
