MELBOURNE - Aug 31/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will remain dominant over the Tasman Sea until Wednesday. A trough of low pressure is expected to move across western parts of South Australia on Wednesday, then over the rest of the State on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds, fresh in the south and light to moderate afternoon sea breezes.Monday 2 SeptemberPossible isolated thundery showers in the northwest corner of the State, fine elsewhere. Warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming moderate to fresh northeast to northerly in the west.Tuesday 3 SeptemberFine. High cloud developing in the west. Warm to hot in the south and east, grading to hot in the northwest corner of the State. Mainly moderate northeast to northerly winds.Wednesday 4 September High cloud increasing from the west. Isolated showers developing over the West Coast district during the day, then extending to Kangaroo Island and southern parts of the Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula during the evening. Generally warm to hot across the State. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change reaching central South Australia late in the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be mostly less than 2 mm with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm possible about the coasts. Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers extending over the southern half of the State, clearing to the east by the end of the period. Isolated light showers may persist about southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north.
