MELBOURNE - Aug 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system south of Tasmania is moving southeastwards. A weak trough will move across the State on Saturday and a cold front will move across waters to the south on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the State during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayPossible patchy light rain extending from the west across the West Coast district and northern agricultural area, Northwest Pastoral and south of the Northeast Pastoral. Possible isolated thunder over the Northwest Pastoral district. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwest winds, strengthening in the far northwest, with areas of raised dust until early evening.Saturday 31 AugustFine apart from possible light patchy rain about the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts and the Northwest Pastoral district east of Woomera. Possible morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the Lower South East. Warm in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, with areas of raised dust in the northeast during the morning.Sunday 1 SeptemberFine. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, fresh in the south.Monday 2 SeptemberPossible isolated showers in the far west of the state. Warm in the south, grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming moderate to fresh northeast to northerly in the west.Tuesday 3 SeptemberFine. Warm to hot in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Generally moderate northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be mostly less than 2 mm.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers developing over the West Coast district and southern agricultural area on Wednesday then extending over remaining agricultural areas and the south of the Pastoral districts during Thursday and Friday.
