MELBOURNE - Aug 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north, while a weakening low pressure trough moves over eastern parts of New South Wales. Following the trough, a ridge will again develop over the state during the weekend, and should remain the dominant feature into the new week. Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of showers and thunderstorms in the east, mostly clearing during the morning. Early fog patches about the coast and tablelands in the north. Otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Northeasterly winds on the north coast, with warm west to northwesterly winds extending throughout the remainder.Saturday 31 AugustThe chance of some light patchy rain in far western districts. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. A warm day. Northwesterly winds in the west, southeast to northeasterly winds along the coast.Sunday 1 SeptemberFine and sunny throughout. A warm day, tending very warm to hot in the northwest. Wind light and variable, becoming east to northeasterly along the coast.Monday 2 SeptemberThe chance of showers in far northeast, otherwise fine and sunny. A warm day, tending very warm to hot in the northwest.
