Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast, while a low pressure trough has recently entered the state's far west. This trough will move through western districts overnight, then weaken as it reaches the coast during Friday. Following this, another high is expected to develop across the region during the weekend, and should remain the dominant feature into the new week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers across southern and central districts, more likely near the Victorian border. Showers tending scattered about the Riverina and southern ranges, with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. A warm day in most areas, with northerly winds becoming fresh to strong and gusty over the western inland, and along the southern coast. A late westerly change in the west.Friday 30 AugustThe chance of showers in the southeast, mainly about the southern slopes, clearing during the morning. Chance early thunderstorms in the far southeast. Early fogs, mostly in the northeast. Otherwise fine and mostly sunny. A warm day. A west to southwesterly change extending throughout.Saturday 31 AugustPossible light patchy rain across far western districts. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. A warm day. Northwesterly winds in the west, southeast to northeasterly winds along the coast.Sunday 1 SeptemberFine and sunny throughout. A warm day. Very warm to hot in the northwest. Wind light and variable, becoming east to northeasterly along the coast.Monday 2 SeptemberChance of showers in far northeast, otherwise fine and sunny throughout. A warm day.
