Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is extending over the far west of the State associated with a low developing over the Bight on Wednesday evening. The low and trough will move southeastwards during Thursday, followed by another trough moving across the far west on Friday and then into central districts and weakening on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and squally thunderstorms over the west of the State south of Coober Pedy, with showers increasing to scattered over the west and south of Eyre Peninsula in the evening. Possible isolated showers extending to western parts of the eastern districts in the evening. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, fresh in the west and strong with areas of raised dust in the far northwest, ahead of a fresh westerly change in the far west, strong near the coast.Thursday 29 AugustIsolated showers south of about Leigh Creek, most likely over the southern agricultural area with possible isolated thunderstorms. Showers tending scattered at times about southern coasts and ranges. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast. Fresh and gusty northerly winds in the east, turning fresh and gusty westerly throughout, then easing in the evening.Friday 30 AugustPossible isolated light morning showers over the southern coastal districts, contracting to the Lower South East in the afternoon. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west and becoming strong in the far northwest, with areas of raised dust during the afternoon.Saturday 31 AugustFine, with areas of high cloud. Warm in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds.Sunday 1 SeptemberFine on Sunday. Possible isolated showers in the far northwest on Monday, extending across the far west and south on Tuesday. Warm in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Light winds in the north, tending moderate to fresh northwest in the south. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over Eyre Peninsula and remainder of the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm is possible further north and west over areas south of about Leigh Creek.Monday until WednesdayPossible isolated showers in the far northwest on Monday, extending across the far west and south on Tuesday and Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
