Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over Victoria will weaken as it drifts eastwards today. A high pressure system passing over southern Tasmania will combine with an existing high pressure system over the Tasman Sea later today as another low pressure system develops over South Australia. This low pressure system and associated trough will move into western Victoria late on Thursday before moving away to the east on Friday. Another weak low pressure trough will drift across the State on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayLocal early morning fog over the northeast. Fine over the northwest. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, gradually contracting southeastwards. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast.Thursday 29 AugustIsolated showers, scattered in central and northeastern areas during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms possible. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with fresh to strong northeast to northerly winds, shifting west to northwesterly in the west later in the day.Friday 30 AugustIsolated showers in southern and eastern areas contracting southwards and clearing later. A mild to warm day with a light to moderate northwesterly wind.Saturday 31 AugustIsolated showers possible but mostly dry. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate northerly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
