MELBOURNE - Aug 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea will continue to maintain a ridge over eastern New South Wales. A weak trough is expected to brush the south of the state today followed by a new high moving into the southern Tasman Sea. A second, stronger trough is likely to cross western NSW Thursday then weaken as it moves through eastern parts during Friday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPossible isolated showers in the southeast, more likely about the southern ranges in the afternoon. Mostly sunny in the north. Isolated early frost patches about the ranges and isolated early fog patches in the east. Warm day in the west. Moderate northwesterly winds in the west, chiefly southeasterly winds along the coast.Thursday 29 AugustThe chance of showers in most southern and eastern districts, more likely in the southeast where thunderstorms are possible. Generally fine and partly cloudy in the north. Very warm day in the west. Northerly winds freshening, becoming strong and gusty in the west before a westerly change.Friday 30 AugustIsolated showers in the east, clearing during the day. Weakening west to southwesterly change extending throughout.Saturday 31 AugustPossible isolated showers over the south. Partly cloudy in the north. Very warm to hot day in the northwest.
