Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near a line Cape Borda to Leigh Creek will move slowly eastwards and weaken overnight. Another trough will move across the far west of the State on Wednesday afternoon and evening, associated with a low developing over the Bight on Wednesday evening. The low and trough will then move southeastwards and weaken during Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayCloudy with possible isolated showers over central and eastern districts, contracting to the South East district late evening. Mild to warm. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting moderate southwest over western and central districts.Wednesday 28 AugustIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the west of the State south of Coober Pedy, with showers increasing to scattered over the south of Eyre Peninsula in the evening. Possible isolated showers extending to western parts of the eastern districts in the evening. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north with light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west during the afternoon and becoming strong with areas of raised dust in the far west, ahead of a fresh westerly change in the far west, strong near the coast.Thursday 29 AugustIsolated showers south of about Leigh Creek, most likely over the southern agricultural area with possible isolated thunderstorms. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast. Fresh and gusty northerly winds in the west, turning fresh and gusty westerly throughout, then easing in the evening.Friday 30 AugustPossible isolated light morning showers over the southern coastal districts, contracting to the Lower South East in the afternoon. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west and becoming strong in the far west, with areas of raised dust during the afternoon.Saturday 31 AugustFine, with areas of high cloud. Warm in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm is possible further north over areas south of Leigh Creek.Sunday until TuesdayFine on Sunday. Possible isolated showers in the far northwest on Monday, extending across the far west and south on Tuesday. Mild to warm in the south, hot to very hot in the north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
