MELBOURNE - Aug 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will strengthen tomorrow and remain slow-moving. A low pressure system and associated trough will approach western Victoria tonight before weakening rapidly during Wednesday. Another low pressure system will develop over South Australia later on Wednesday. This low pressure system and associated trough will move into western Victoria late on Thursday before moving away to the east on Friday. Another weak low pressure trough will drift across the State on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the west and south and the chance of a thunderstorm about the far southwest. Light to moderate northwest to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 28 AugustFine over the northwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, mostly during the afternoon. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast.Thursday 29 AugustFine in the far southeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, scattered in central and northeastern areas during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms possible. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with fresh to strong northeast to northerly winds, shifting west to northwesterly in the west later in the day.Friday 30 AugustIsolated showers in southern and eastern areas contracting southwards and clearing later. A mild to warm day with a light to moderate northwesterly wind.Saturday 31 AugustIsolated showers possible but mostly dry.
