MELBOURNE - Aug 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly east over the next couple of days. A low pressure system and associated trough over the Bight will approach western Victoria later tomorrow before weakening rapidly during Wednesday. The next high pressure system will extend a ridge across Tasmania on Wednesday as another low pressure system develops over South Australia. This low pressure system and associated trough will move into western Victoria late on Thursday before moving away to the east on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers near the coast. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 27 AugustPatchy morning fog, mainly over the east, then fine for most of the day but isolated showers developing in the west later. Mild to warm with a light to moderate northerly winds tending northeasterly later in the day.Wednesday 28 AugustFine over the northwest. Isolated showers elsewhere contracting southwards and clearing later. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible near the eastern ranges. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast.Thursday 29 AugustIsolated showers developing in most districts, more scattered in the northeast with isolated thunderstorms possible. A mild to warm and partly cloudy day with moderate northeasterly winds, shifting west to northwesterly in the west later in the day.Friday 30 AugustIsolated showers in southern and eastern areas contracting southwards and clearing later.
